CCR-005 Project Bridge — Migration and Continuity Environment Lab
CCR // PROJECT BRIDGE
CORE PRINCIPLE
A temporary bridge should have an expiration plan.
Temporary technology has a way of becoming permanent forgotten infrastructure. This environment visualizes the transition from legacy to future state — and the deliberate decision point at which the bridge itself is decommissioned.
MIGRATION ARCHITECTURE
LEGACY STATE
CURRENT / EXISTING- Established process or system
- Known dependencies
- Existing users or workflows
- Technical debt accumulated over time
Still operational. Not yet replaced.
BRIDGE ENVIRONMENT
TRANSITION LAYER- Legacy process remains accessible
- Future-state system runs in parallel
- Users can move between both
- Data or workflow continuity maintained
Temporary by design. Requires an exit date.
FUTURE STATE
TARGET / REPLACEMENT- Replacement system fully operational
- Legacy dependencies resolved
- Bridge decommissioned on schedule
- No orphaned infrastructure
The bridge is gone. The transition is complete.
BRIDGE DEPENDENCIES
WHAT KEEPS THE BRIDGE ALIVE?
- Users who have not yet migrated
- Integrations that depend on the legacy system
- Data that has not been transferred
- Workflows with no equivalent in the new system
WHAT TRIGGERS DECOMMISSION?
- All users successfully migrated
- All integrations updated or replaced
- Data transfer verified and complete
- Agreed exit date reached
THE RISK
Without a defined exit plan, the bridge becomes permanent. The legacy system never gets decommissioned. The future state never fully arrives. The organization ends up maintaining two systems indefinitely — and the cost of the transition never ends.
